While I was in India, I worked with Rescue Pink; an organization who strives toward creating an India that cherishes and values girls through rescue, prevention, and awareness. I helped out with their summer program, teaching the girls that they have value and worth along with subjects such as math, crafts, games and health. I had a group of 7-10 girls, ages 4-8 years. I had a truly wonderful time with these sweet girls. Every day looked a little different but this blog shows what a typical day could look like through pictures. I hope you enjoy!

7:30 AM:
I’m awake and I’m alive! I am ready for the day!

8:30AM:
Study and Chai Time!

9:30AM:
Breakfast time with Potato Curry and Puri(deep-fried bread). This is one of my favorite meals in India.

10:30AM:
My sweet group of girls. We made folded paper butterflies with construction paper for Arts and Crafts.

11:30AM:
Teaching the girls some karate skills. HIYAH!

12:30PM:
Here I am decorating the girl’s hands with henna.

1:30PM:
It’s lunch time! In India, we sit on the floor and eat with our right hands.

2:30PM:
After eating a big lunch, it’s nap time!

3:30PM:
Once everyone has waken up from their nap it’s time to watch cartoons. Tom and Jerry and Doraemon are some of the favorites.

4:30PM:
It is time to have a snack! Today we are having milk and cookies!

5:30PM:
Now it is time for the girls to squish into a tuk-tuk and go home!

6:30PM:
Dinner time with the team! We are having rice, cabbage curry, dal and chapati! Yummy!

7:30PM:
As it gets later in the day, we go outside to watch the monkeys come out and play! It has been a long day so it is time to chill and rest and prepare for the next day!
