So I am in my 5th month of my World Race.   I am in the beautiful country of Nepal, a vibrant, colorful country filled with people from all over the world and the beautiful breath-taking Himalayan mountains.  This month has been filled with many changes.

Besides coming to a new country, my squad had team changes for the first time this month.   So I am on a brand new team.  My new team is called Beautiful Things.  There are five of us; Micaela, Megan, Courtney, Saylah, and I.

This is also our first month of ATL.  ATL (Ask The Lord) means that this month we don’t have any set hosts or ministries to partner with.   This gives us a lot of freedom to ask God where He wants us to go and who he wants us to partner with.   At the beginning of our month, we went on a hike in the Himalayas for 5 days.  We met so many people from all over the world including England, The Czech Republic, and Malaysia.   We even met a group of YWAMers who blessed us by worshiping and praying with us while on top of a mountain!   I have a blog and a video of our hike that I will post soon!

One of the people we encountered this month was a woman named Pooja, who is originally from India.  She approached us on our way to grab brunch one day, asking if we could buy her little son baby formula.   After we helped her out, she invited us over to her house for tea.   We were able to talk with her about the love God has for her and she shared some of her story with us.   After the horrible earthquake in 2015, her husband lost his shoe making business in the disaster.   Over the course of the month we were able to reach out to people back at home to help receive funds to buy a new shoemaker’s box, to help restart his business.   This is just one example of a person that God put in our path and a divine encounter that God orchestrated for us this month.

At the end of this month my team and I partnered with a organization in Kathmandu.  Unfortunately I got sick with a stomach flu and ended up laying in the hospital for a few hours.  As I lay there, I was just so thankful for a pause to do nothing but be in God’s presence.  I started singing and praising God. I am so thankful to Him for giving me wonderful teammates who would take good care of me!  I am completely better now, thanks to God!  As I look at the start of a new month, I am learning what it means to rest in God’s presence and take life slow while on the World Race.  I hope you enjoyed reading what my past month has been like and enjoy watching the video below! Thank you everyone for the support and prayers!

With Love, Jewel

  2. What a blast. I am so happy that you are experiencing so much of the world beyond home. Glad too that you have a good team that you like and that you can identify ways in which God is choosing to use you in this ministry endeavor.

Hope you continue to have a wonderful time. Blessings, Pastor Al
